2010-2011 The Peugeot-107

One of the problems when renting a car for your vacation is that the car is not just the transport more friendly to the environment. Although, there are more ecological ways to travel, cars are not noted for their low environmental impact. This was until today.

In recent years, manufacturers have focused their attention on creating new models of cars to reduce carbon emissions and other environmental impacts, with the aim both to help the environment and reducing the fault of the car owners for the use of these vehicles almost indispensable.

So, when this situation occurs how do you decide which car to go for, the following list will help you out with this.

1) Firstly, you need to consider the manufacturer. Obviously some have better reputations than others. But in the case of Peugeot and Citroen who have similar sorts of reputations you need to look at other factors a bit more closely.
2) You should the look a bit more closely at the car's specification - what offers you more value for money. In some cases you may find that one car is better equipped with the latest technology, but the other may be available in a better choice of engines, this may suit your motoring needs more.
3) One point that shouldn't really define your decision is the location of your nearest car dealer...you should look more carefully at the specs...but hey, if they're that similar!
4) Another point which applies mainly to the Tigra and Puma is their social reputation. It probably hasn't escaped your attention is that many people often perceive the Vauxhall Tigra as a 'hairdresser's car', therefore most men will probably be put off choosing the funky Tigra over the Puma. Even though both cars are almost identical the Puma seems to be perceived as more of a mans car...for whatever reason.

So, when it comes to choosing between two almost identical cars you should take these points into consideration and then make your decision. Production of the Tigra has stopped this year and there are no immediate plans for a replacement, so you may have to stick to buying a used car - which means you need to pay more attention to the specs...to make sure you get the most from your money.

I saw both a Puma and a Tigra in Essex last week and was amazed by how similar they were...I haven't actually seen the C1 or the 107 on the road, only in images - if you haven't seen check it out, the similarity is unreal!

2010-2011 Ford-F350

The new 6.2L Boss will also be available in F-150 and F-350 series trucks. Because of the large horsepower increase, industry watchers anticipate record performance gains in all weight classes in 2011. Other 2010 Ford F-250 Super Duty engine options will remain unchanged next year. For heavy industrial use and towing, the 3-valve turbo-diesel delivers a stump-pulling 650 lbs.-ft. of torque.

Truck fans across the country regret seeing the V10 vanish. Nevertheless, full factory support is assured through all applicable warranty periods. In addition, the availability of aftermarket parts guarantees continued support for years to come. As always, as one champion disappears into history, a new champion appears to regain dominance.

Vehicle Availability: According to practicalenvironmentalist.com there are a limited number of 2011 diesel models available. For car shoppers with budgets of less than $20,000 they will have to wait at least another year before a vehicle in their price range becomes available. In addition, families craving a diesel minivan will also have to wait until 2012 and beyond. The reason there are not more models available is that it is expensive to upgrade a standard diesel engine so that it meets US "clean diesel" standards. The most popular models available are the Audi A3, the Audi Q7, the BMW 335d, the BMW X5 xDrive 35d, Dodge Ram 2500, Dodge Ram 3500, Ford F-250 Super Duty, Ford F-350 Super Duty, Ford F-250 Super Duty, GMC Sierra 2500 HD, GMC Sierra 3500 HD, Mercedes-Benz ML350, Mercedes-Benz GL350, Mercedes-Benz R350, the VolkswagenTouareg TDI, the Jetta TDI, The Jetta SportWagen TDI, and the Volkswagen Golf.

Until the cost of developing diesel engines that comply with the EPA's clean diesel standards comes down and the government removes the tax disadvantages on purchases of diesel fuel, car and light truck manufacturers will not produce diesels on the same level as gas-powered vehicles. But for those people that want a reliable car that will last 10+ years diesels are a great alternative to gas or hybrids because of their lower maintenance costs and longer life expectancies.

A quick glance at the 2010 Ford F-250 Super Duty engine options reveals three potent power plants. The factory offers a 5.4L V8, a 6.8L V10, and a 6.4L turbo-diesel V8. For performance enthusiasts, the 6.8L V10 continues to provide exhilarating performance. Regardless of the success of this lineup, the selection within the truck series is about to change.

As for the Ford Super Duty, this truck delivers just its specifications offer. Patrons of this Ford truck rely on this to get the job done. And this truck does it with unsurpassed gas and diesel power, more toughness, and useful new features that makes work easier, and also makes recreation and play time more enjoyable.

Frank Davis, Ford vehicle programs director for pickups and commercial vehicles claims, "The original Super Duty proved that pickup trucks with the right stuff could handle jobs that once were associated only with the big, commercial medium-duty truck segment. The Ford Super Duty takes this capability to the to the max, with towing and cargo ratings that will astound our customers."

Last year, 2005, the Super Duty made available that year featured a host of functional, capability, and convenience improvements. And now, customers of the Ford Super Duty are waiting as to what changes more could be done to this astounding truck.

The 3-valve SOHC V10 was originally introduced in 2005. Initially, power output was rated at 310 hp and 425 lbs.-ft. torque. Over the last five years, continuous factory improvements increased maximum output to 362 hp and 457 lbs.-ft. torque. The original aluminum head design used three valves per cylinder that were actuated by a single overhead camshaft. Because of the success of the unique head design, current models continue using the same configuration.

According to factory representatives, production of the V10 power plant will be phased out later this year. The 6.2L Boss V8 will replace the legendary V10. The 6.2L Boss should produce approximately 500 hp. Perhaps the substitution is intended to regain dominance over the top-performing power plant available in the GMC 2500HD now rated at 360 hp.

Honda Unicorn's Styling

The looks might be average but the turnout is good though yet again not in keeping with the exacting Honda standards. HMSI did recall our bike to fix a few detail niggles which were part of the initial batch and we have had no complaints so far. However look at the black screen and the way it integrates with the flaring and there are huge gaps. Whether this is by design or default is hard to make out but its there.

Honda Unicorn's Performance

The clutch actuation is a joy for many riders but there is that typically Honda notchiness (from its big bikes of course) in the first two gears which makes shifts a tad hard, notably when starting from cold. The engine needs a good wringing to get it to really motor but then the emphasis has been always on good mid-range lugging with two astride and this tuned and geared for fuel efficiency means that rapid fire getaways are disappointing. There is a positive aspect to this though, with a sweet low rev cruise band which helps take everyone from point A to point B without fuss and in sheer splendour.

And speaking of splendour, the Honda Unicorn 150's monoshock is the one redeeming aspect which the enthusiast riders in our team crave for. Shame that there is not more performance on tap from the bike to make us exploit the virtues of this directly mounted central shocker. Clearly this Honda is one for the masses and in that scenario it has been playing its part with us to the hilt. Didn't we tell you that the future of the executive segment has all to do with the 150cc class?

Detail Body New Hybrid TOYOTA-PRIUS

When you happen to be a very price sensitive customer, the first question that comes to your mind is, "will I buy a new battery for an old car or will I look for some other available options?"

Well, here is an answer to your queries. In this regard you can find used batteries on various websites such as eBay. You can also find other dealers other than Toyota who will sell you a used Prius battery. This option is much cheaper than a new battery but you will still pay between $1500 and $2500. The risk with these options is a lot of times you will not know how many miles are on the battery.

If you search properly you can find better options and not have to make a full Toyota Prius battery replacement? Some other options would include purchasing a cheap battery from some different dealer and not Toyota itself. This is a nice alternative when you have to make Toyota Prius battery replacement. However please consider a simple thought for a minute. When your car is already seven years old or eight years old, why should you pay for a new battery?

I was in the same situation some days back. Having a car which was seven years old and mad at Toyota I did not want to give them anymore of my money. My car was giving me a lot of problems. I had to recharge it the dealer a couple of times in one week and its performance was declining day by day. The worst part was at that point I did not have the money to pay for a Toyota Prius battery replacement. The lack of funds made me search the internet for ways in which I could get my car back on the road.

This is where I came across the guide which showed me the way I could rebuild my own battery plus saving me the high cost of a whole Toyota Prius battery replacement. It is good and descriptive about the methods and techniques for re building the battery. They show you ways to put newer battery cells into your old battery pack. It is just like the process of changing the battery of your cell phone. And more over the guide gives step by step information which any common individual can do. In my case I did not want to rebuild the battery myself so before I bought the guide I checked around and found many mechanics that would do the job for me at regular shop rates as long as I provided the guide for them. This was still very cost effective and would save me a lot of money compared to the dealers cost for my Toyota Prius battery replacement. These rebuilt batteries have a good life span and have been more satisfactory for my Prius.

In 1961, the CA-100T trail 50 (trail cub) made its debut. It had a 50cc four stroke engine, a three-speed and automatic clutch, mounted on a step through frame which allowed ladies with skirts to ride it. In 1968, Honda's first real dirt bike the Z50 mini trail came along. It was a three-speed unit that had fold-up handle bars so that it could fit into a car trunk. The Z50 still holds the record as Honda's all time best selling bike in America with a total sale of, 450,000 units, and is responsible for introducing off road ridding to more youngsters than any other bike. Today, Honda is one of the leading dirt bike manufacturers in the world. Their line-up for 2010 includes such updated models as: the CFR450R, and the CFR250R. Yamaha's off road bike saga began after WW-II, when Gen-Ichi Kawakimi - then president of the "Nippon Gakki Company" - decided to make use of a production line & tooling that had previously been used to produce aircraft propellers, to produce the forerunner of Yamaha dirt bikes. Yamaha, named after it's founder - Toracusu Yamaha separated from the Nippon Gakki Company, and produced the DT1- a 250cc two stoke, their first truly off road bike. Then in 1975 the YZ250 the first motocross bike to feature a single shock rear end was introduced. Yamaha has come a long way since the early days. With an impressive line up for 2010 Yamaha show cases such models as: the YZ450F, YZ250F, YZ125, and the YZ85 for motocross, and the WR450F, WR250F, TTR230, TTR125LE for off-road ridding. So what else does the S1000RR have to offer? Aside from being incredibly powerful, the model also boasts the best power-to-weight ratio available at 183 kg (400 lb) dry and 204 kg (450 lb) wet. There are also many electronic perks such as a ride-by-wire throttle and variable-length intake tracts - as well as optional extras including ABS and traction control. The model has also been noted for its digitally selected sport modes, rain, sport (up to 190 break horsepower), race and slick (for taking onto the track).

Adjustable suspension and ride height also makes each bike easily changeable for each individual rider - and its simplicity is commendable. The model has already entered into the market in high regard, and it seems unlikely that this bike will not remain at the top for some time.

New Generations The Lotus Elise

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_FoXyvaPSnVk/TKXnPgeSbhI/AAAAAAADYLE/K3vdOaR_GlE/s1600/2015-Lotus-Elise-18.JPG

This new Elise has been subtly tweeked. At the rear a deeper defuser aid the exciting airflow reducing drag while at the front a similar thing, although you wouldn't really know it. Lotus has always been about weight saving rather than monstrous amounts of power and this Elise is still true, weighing in at just 876 kg. This is not a car for those that want to drive flat out everywhere. It's a great touring car with this engine. Capable of keeping up but definitely not that quick. But once again I don't need to state that, this Elise is what it is. A low powered Lotus that won't get you into trouble unless you slap its face and make it angry. I am definitely of the opinion that this car, as with any little Lotus is not just a car but more of a part of you and should be described as a being rather than an object. You don't drive an Elise, you wear it like a well fitting shoe.

The first model of the Lotus which was launched is of 680kg which is around 1500 lb. Besides this, the driving of the car is absolutely amazing because the models of the car have the perfect ability to accelerate, corner and brake. Due to this reason the weight of the cars can be compared to the Porsche. Another interesting fact is about the engine of the car. The Porsche was having the engine of 201bhp which is around 149 kW, but the cars of the Lotus was working brilliant on 120bhp or 89 kW.

2009-2010 the BMW-S1000RR

With major motorcycle markets such as the US suffering significant declines in sales in 2009, manufacturers will be looking to the post recession era with an eagerness to push boundaries while all parts of the industry, from accessories to bike insurance, will want to appeal to new potential customers. BMW will arguably be in a fantastic position to make the most of any positive trends in the industry, especially after acknowledging the manufacturer's comparably good performance (dropping only 22 percent, when the entire market fell by 41 percent) in the US over the last year.

The hotly anticipated S1000RR looks set to push boundaries and to really adopt the position of market front runner. Since its launch in 2008, 1,000 production models were made in the following year with the bike being taken to impressive success in the Superbike World Championship by Troy Corser in the Czech Republic and Ruben Xaus in Italy respectively.

2010, however, sees the first of the S1000RR to hit the dealerships - a development in the company that even the project leader, Stefan Zeit, hadn't anticipated when he suggested a BMW sport bike when he first took up the job and was subsequently assured that BMW would never produce one. The fact that the model looks to be the most powerful 1000cc bike on the market has got more than a few heads turned - and a few deposits already laid down too.

First Drive The Q7-AUDI with 204HP V6 Diesel

North America got a good set of Q7 variants to drive. The first one was the Audi Q7 hybrid which is basically a hybrid car that is built upon the Q7 and features an electric motor along with a 4.2 FSI engine; which is able to output a torque of more than 200Nm. This particular hybrid is powered by a battery of Nickel-Metal Hydride and this system pushes the car to an acceleration of 0 to 100 km per hour within 6.8 seconds. But this hybrid is comparatively heavier when compared to the petrol version of the Q7. Audi has actually announced that it would be rolling out even more hybrids but the number would be limited. As of now, Audi seems to be focussed on development of Q5 hybrids that will feature the Lithium-Ion battery.

One of the most pointless yet poignant rides that I have had the opportunity to drive with total abandon is the Audi Q7 4.2. FSI. This car is now entering its fourth year of production and it is extremely pointless because it is a huge, petrol hungry therefore politically incorrect vehicle. It is also the love of people who think that bungalow sized SUVs, which are rubbish off road, are the correct vehicle to own. It is one car which is as long as a standard Mercedes S-class but heavier (at 2250kg), wider and much taller. Anything that is bigger than an S-class is pretty pointless in some ways. And when tree loving eco friendly terrorists tell you that it burns more petrol than the entire nation of Timor Leste at one go you may be inclined to believe them due to the 350bhp 4.2liter V8 powering it.

This bulk carrier can carry 7 people as there is a 7 seater version but to say that it is a people carrier is wrong as most owners will never carry anyone other than himself, or use a driver with him seated behind. To say it is a proper off road SUV is even more pointless as no one is going to trash a S$322,000.00 vehicle in the rain forest of Pahang and that it comes with on road spec tires that have the grip of leather soles on a polished floor. We also have to note that it does not have a proper low range transfer case, but the usual Quattro All Wheel Drive system that you may also find in the A4 Quattro. It does have a ride height adjustable suspension, but that function will only be used to lower the rear so that the owner can load his or her groceries with ease.

So, how can a car have all this power and claim to be green? The 918 Spyder has electric motors at the front and rear axles. The drive to the front wheels is purely electric via a fixed ratio. The liquid cooled lithium ion battery pack sits behind the cockpit and can be ideally charged at home or by brake regeneration.

This sports car is a high revving V-8 related, 3.4 litre racing car. It produces more than 500 brake horse power with engine revs of up to 9200 rpm. Yet, it does an incredible 78mpg, driven the right way, plus the emissions level sit at just 70 grams of CO2 per kilometre.

The chassis is made from CFP (Carbon fiber reinforced plastic), along with the use of a lot of magnesium and aluminium to keep the frame as light as possible. The stylish interior is designed to be driver orientated with touch screens and intuitive controls.

The Porsche 918 Spyder whilst still a concept car at this stage is a sports car that looks exactly how a sports car should look and drives exactly how a sports car should drive along with boosting very impressive green credentials. It promises to be a car of the future holding real production possibilities which could set a new standard for the next generation of sports cars.

The side anti-collision devices prevent you from making an unsafe lane change into another car in your blind spot. These also work on sound and most new motor homes have these as standard, along with most of the higher-end luxury models for Lexus, Mercedes, Volvo, and BMW.

These add-on anti-side collision warning systems for other models and manufacturers are extras which you can order, many swear by them, but they are expensive. Still, if they prevent one accident then all of a sudden, they've paid for themselves.

Most major bad at-fault accidents are caused from front end collisions, and the anti-collision front facing systems, will help you with decreased visibility (fog for instance). Some now let off the gas, take your vehicle out of cruise control, tug your steering wheel to the right, all a warning, and do everything but apply the brake. Some apply the brake at the last instant.

Depending on your budget, cost maybe the biggest factor in your decision making, although many of the new car models in the future will have these systems. To install one in an older car, check the ads, and consumer reports and see what others are saying.

Installation can run 2-3 hours to setup the sensors for the sonar devices for rear and side. Whereas, the front anti-collision devices to protect pedestrians can get quite expensive especially if you are installing it through a car dealership - and I hope you will please consider all this.

Who would have thought that you could have a mean looking, fast racing, good looking sports car that also has impressive green credentials? Well, that's exactly what Porsche are proposing with their latest concept car: the Porsche 918 Spyder. Let's take a closer look.

Unveiled on the eve of the famous Geneva Auto Show, the Stuttgart based company, Porsche, lifted the lid on their new concept car which happens to be a mid engine, two seater sports cars with hybrid and electric drive technology. It certainly looks mean, but what are the stats like? Remarkably impressive when looked at. Nought to Sixty in less than 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 198mph and it happens to be faster than the Carrera GT, as proven by successfully finishing the Nurburgring lap in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds.

Not so long ago, in a little coffee shop around the corner with a big corporate sounding name stood a woman totally perplexed. She had just purchased a new hybrid with all the bells, whistles, and add-on options, but it did not have an anti-collision system, and since she realized I knew a thing or two about automobiles she asked me where to get one. Below is what I explained to her on that day.

Modern automobile safety devices are absolutely cutting edge in our modern era, but of course choosing the right one for your car, and your own needs is getting to be a rocket science all to its own. Between the Japanese, German, and US Automakers, our future cars will be safer than ever. But what if you already own your favorite car and plan on keeping it for a while? Well, then perhaps we should look at your options here and consider all this.

Most anti-collision systems are geared towards preventing you from backing into something, doing an unsafe lane change, hitting a pedestrian, or rear-ending something big and heavy like a truck, car, or wall. Good idea right?

There are several methodologies used for anti-collision systems, most work off sound waves or sonar - like a bat flying through the air. A few use optical sensors, still others use a visual display along with one of those two sensors to let you see what you are getting too close too.

Hiding under the hood of the mid engine Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster you will find an awesome 631 horsepower, 487 pound-feet of torque 6.5-liter V12 engine that greatly improves the performance of the original Murcielago Roadster. When all of the horsepower of this 6.5 liter V12 is let loose, the six-speed manual or six-speed automated manual transmission connecting to the standard all-wheel-drive does it's best to keep the power to the ground.

The LP640 Roadster does not have too many competitors in its class. The Mercedes-Benz SLR Roadster might be considered a competitor to the LP640 Roadster, but it costs nearly $150,000 more. Ferrari unfortunately doesn't sell any roadsters with any where near the kind of power that the Mercielago LP640 produces, and Aston Martin's DB9 Volante also has considerably less horsepower, almost 200 less horsepower. This kind of places the LP640 Roadster pretty much in a class of it's own.

The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster exterior also features the wonderful scissor doors, side air scoops that automatically open up at speed, a rear spoiler that can be adjusted to an angle of 70 degrees, folding side mirrors for increased aerodynamics, and electronic Launch Control are also included.
